Most of these tools were made at the Oil Well Supply Co. Ltd. in Petrolia. Some are used to retrieve or "fish" for equipment lost down wells. Petrolia drillers overseas would write home to the company describing a lost piece like a bit. The blacksmiths here made a tool to fit the problem and then shipped it to the foreign country. These tools are from a collection which may be the largest of its kind.
